General & Location

Where are your classes held?
All classes are held in-person at our studio in Southborough, Kent. We are unable to offer online classes at this time.

Is there a dress code or do I need to arrive early?
Please dress comfortably with practical footwear (not suede or open toes, for safety reason). Students are asked to arrive 5 minutes before the class start time to settle in.

Are you open for drop-ins?
No. We do not accept drop-ins. Booking is essential. Spaces are limited (maximum 6 per class), and we need to secure your place in advance to ensure there is room for you.

However we do have a lovely haberdashery which you can come and get all you need for your next project and book a course.

Classes & Course Options

What classes do you offer?

We offer classes tailored to different experience levels and age groups:

  • Beginner Sewing Course (Adults): 8 lessons, 3 hours each. Covers basics, machine use, patterns, and constructing a simple blouse.
  • Intermediate & Advanced Courses: 8 lessons each, 3 hours. For building skills or finishing specific projects.
  • Freestyle Classes: For adults and teens working on their own projects.
  • Kids' Sewing Club: Weekly sessions during term time (ages 7–16).

  • Adult Courses: Open to all ages (16+).
  • Kids' Club (Term Time): Ages 7–16 years.
  • Summer Workshops: Ages 7–16 years.

What is the difference between a Beginner Course and a Freestyle Class?

  • Beginner Course: A structured course following a specific curriculum (e.g., making a blouse). We provide the machine and materials.
  • Freestyle Class: You bring your own project (e.g., a hem, a specific pattern). You pay for the instruction time, and bring the machine/materials for you to work on.

I have a variable work schedule (shifts, weekends). Do you have flexible times?

Do you offer classes during school holidays?

Yes, we run "After-School Clubs" during term time and special "Summer Workshops" during holidays. Please check our booking page for the specific holiday dates.

Booking, Cancellation & Policies

How do I book a class?

Please contact us via email or phone to check availability and pay a deposit. We cannot confirm your booking until payment is received.

What is your Cancellation Policy? A: We require 48 hours' notice before the class start time. If you are more than 48 hours prior, we can move you to a later session later that week subject to availability.

I have children with me. Can we book for everyone?

If you have a sibling in class, they can join if they are already signed up for a level (in mixed classes). However, children generally cannot attend a structured adult beginner course unless they are aged 16+ or are attending the Kids' Club separately. For families attending the same class, we recommend the Summer Workshop or booking a Private Lesson to ensure the class ratio remains small for safety and focus.

Can I bring my own fabric?

Yes, you can bring your own fabric and notions (zipper, thread, etc).

Specific Enquiries

I don't have a sewing machine. Can I learn?

Do you do alterations?

Through our courses you will learn skills which will help you do your own alterations.

Do you accept refunds?

No. Once a booking is confirmed, classes and lessons are non-refundable, due to the preparation time for the classes.
